President-elect Donald Trump and House Republicans are pushing to implement tax reform legislation early next year, possibly within the first 100 days of Trump’s term. It remains to be seen how closely they will work with their Senate counterparts.
Republican senators insist that any tax reform will need Democratic support to enhance the probability of creating long-term policy, citing that many of President Obama’s key achievements, such as the Affordable Care Act, are now under threat of repeal because they passed without any Republican support. Despite the pleas for bipartisan sponsorship, Trump and House Republicans may forge ahead without it.
