Joel has over 30 years of experience in investment management. Joel joined Heritage from Mangham Associates, a firm he founded in 1991. Joel previously worked at Cambridge Associates and Gemini Consulting.

Joel earned his M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. He also has his M.S., from the University of Wisconsin, and B.S. in Geology from the University of Washington.

He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Miller School of Albemarle.

Joel is an avid hiker and rock-hound, and lives with his wife Michele on their sheep farm in Albemarle County.
