Steve is a highly accomplished investment professional with more than 35 years of institutional and private markets experience. He leads the firm’s development and implementation of alternative investment and private fund initiatives, having played a central role in building and overseeing the Heritage Private Fund platform, which reflects the firm’s commitment to sophisticated, customized investment solutions for qualified clients.

Steve serves on firm’s Investment Policy Committee and his leadership underscores his ability to translate complex market insights into scalable, value-oriented investment structures that align with long-term client objectives.

Prior to joining Heritage, Steve was Director of Investments at The Spider Management Company for more than a decade and earlier held senior portfolio management and leadership roles at the Virginia Retirement System, where he oversaw significant components of the system’s investment program.

Steve holds a B.A. from the University of Richmond and an MBA in Finance from George Washington University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and serves as Investment Chair for the VCU Investment Management Company. He also contributes to his community through long-term board service, including his role as a trustee at the Steward School.

Steve and his wife have been married for over 35 years and have three daughters.
